Analyzes and conducts thorough quality-control tests to ensure that software operates properly, is defect-free, and meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Documents and works to resolve all problems. Reports progress on problem resolution to leadership. Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.

Role e Responsibilities:

·Create Test Automation solutions;

·Executes Test scripts according to application requirements documentation;

·Performs estimation efforts on projects;

·Conducts a limited variety of quality-control tests and analysis to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements;

·Drafts and revises Test Plans and scripts;

·Logs defects;

·Retests software corrections to ensure problems are resolved;

·Documents evolution of testing cases/scripts for future replication;

·Interacts with other testing members, developers and project management;

Qualifications

Requirements:

·Demonstrates understanding of intersystem dependencies around primary applications;

·Ability to rapidly assimilate new information and develop general knowledge of system being tested;

·Programming skills (C#, Java) - previous experience as developer;

·Experienced in Automation Testing Tools and procedures;

·Good oral and written communication skills in English;

·Limited diagnostic and problem solving skills and limited knowledge of one application;

·Undergraduate degree and relevant experience.

Key responsibilities

Dell Financial Services IT is seeking talented .NET/Java developers to join our energetic, fast-paced environment. You will be part of the team supporting the Dell Financial Services business, working with a globally distributed team on new development as well as system support activities, including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting applications. Our complex financial systems range from development of customer and internal facing web based applications, to internal batch processing systems.

The DFS Financials space in particular includes a number of critical Java- and .NET-based legacy custom-developed applications serving the needs of DFS’s accounting and treasury accounting business across multiple regions as well as a number of vendor applications which are developed and enhanced by external 3rd parties.

• Design, code, test, debug and document Java and .NET applications
• Maintain and update batch scripts and Control-M job schedules as needed
• Engage with Product Owner and Business Analysts to clarify business requirements and with Scrum Master and Project Management teams to ensure project timelines are met
• Engage with our Solution Architects to understand high-level solution and long-term strategy and ensure high-level solution and strategy gets correctly translated into technical design documentation
• Write, modify and implement batch scripts for job automation
• Check-out and Check-in changes in TFS, branch and merge code for build and deployment
• Ensure documentation for production deployments are accurate and sufficiently detailed
• Participate in production launches collaborating with geographically distributed teams through conference calls and instant messaging
• Plan and conduct Unit Test, Development Integration Test and support System Integration Tests and User Acceptance Tests and assist in Development and QA acceptance test environment build and maintenance
• Support environment management teams in the deployment of new builds and software versions to non-production environments
• Provide Level 3 (application development) support for escalated production incidents orchestrating different teams for issue resolution, interacting with Level 2 (application support) and business users

Qualifications

• Solid experience of Java and .NET software development experience, ideally within an Agile development process
• Strong understanding of version control systems (TFS), including branching and merging strategy
• Experience with WebServices and XML
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people (IT and business)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a globally distributed team

Nice to have:

• Unit Test Development and batch processing: Experience with Control-M and batch scripts
• Experience troubleshooting complex scenarios spanning in multiple systems and layers
• Experience working with app support teams, troubleshooting production issues and interacting with business users and experience supporting production deployments
